Vol. 234 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water Supply Schemes.

11.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that 25 persons at Gallowstown, County Roscommon, have been awaiting a water supply for a long time; and that in this connection a tender for the acceptance of the necessary pumps has been forwarded to his Department for sanction; and if he will make a statement on the matter indicating when he will give sanction.

Certain technical aspects of the tenders for the pumping plant referred to by the Deputy are the subject of correspondence between my Department and Roscommon County Council. When these matters have been clarified, a decision will be given on the proposal.

12.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of group water schemes for North Tipperary at present awaiting sanction in his Department.

Proposals for 31 group water supply schemes in North Tipperary are at present being investigated in the Department.

13.

Preliminary proposals for a group water supply scheme to serve five houses at Ballinlouty, Borrisoleigh were received on 31st January last. The proposals are being investigated locally. It is not possible at this stage to say when approval will be given.
