Vol. 234 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Mallow Hospital Extension.

25.

asked the Minister for Health if he has received an application for sanction from Cork Health Authority for the erection of ancillary buildings at Mallow County Hospital.

As indicated in my reply to the Deputy's previous question on 25th October, 1967, it was necessary, in view of the considerable expenditure involved, to examine in some detail the proposals which had been submitted by Cork Health Authority for improvements at Mallow County Hospital. The proposals were discussed at a meeting between officers of my Department and officers of the health authority in November last when the latter undertook to review the situation and to formulate detailed proposals for an economical and suitable scheme of improvements.

Revised proposals were submitted by the health authority on 3rd April. These are at present being examined in my Department and, as suggested by the health authority, arrangements are being made for a further early meeting.
