Vol. 234 No. 11

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Traffic Lights.

17.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will give statistics for the last two years of the number of road accidents at or near White's Cross, Stillorgan, County Dublin; and whether he will recommend the installation of traffic lights at this junction.

Between 1st May, 1966, and 31st April, 1968, 21 road accidents occurred at or close to the crossing. Seven involved personal injuries—none of them fatal—and the remaining 14 involved material damage only.

A formal statutory request for the provision of traffic lights at the crossing was sent by the Garda to Dublin County Council in June, 1966, and I understand that the work of erection will commence soon.
