Vol. 234 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Free Legal Aid.

45.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of persons who have availed of free legal aid since its introduction.

The number of persons who were granted free legal aid and whose claims have been paid by my Department to date is 523. In addition, there is a number of cases in which free legal aid has been granted but which have not yet reached the stage for the submission of claims.

Will the Minister say what is the scale of payment in the different courts in different cases?

I would need notice of that question. I have not that information here.
