Vol. 234 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Waterford Pension Book.

55.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why the supplementary old age pension book of a person in Waterford (details supplied) was recalled and has not since been returned.

The book was not recalled but was returned to my Department because of a misunderstanding at the local post office. Payment of the amount due was subsequently made by way of a payable order, which was cashed on the 1st ultimo. The book at present held by the pensioner enables him to draw pension at the full rate to which he is entitled and a supplementary book is not necessary.

Did the Minister say the first of last month?

Very well.
