Vol. 235 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Trucks for Agricultural Haulage.

5.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the hardships now imposed by reason of the High Court judgment of 13th May, 1968 on users of converted trucks for agricultural haulage purposes; and if he proposes to alleviate such conditions by further necessary legislation.

The annual rate of duty payable on a tractor and trailer owned by a farmer and used occasionally on public roads for the haulage of agricultural products is £2 10s. It is not proposed to amend the law to permit articulated vehicles owned by farmers to be licensed at this rate.
