Vol. 235 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shannon Industrial Estate.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state for each of the last five years the value of (a) all raw materials, semi-processed goods and components imported into the Shannon Free Airport Industrial Estate and (b) all exports from the estate.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a statement showing the information requested in so far as it is available.

Following is the statement:

Shannon Free Airport Industrial Estate: Estimated Value of Imports and Exports*.

1963

1964

1965

1966

1967

£ million

Imports

11.5

16.0

24.2

22.5

Exports

13.9

22.7

31.7

32.6

*Manufacturing concerns only.

†Estimate not available.

Would it not be possible to read this out? Is it very lengthy?

I have requested permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate it and I do not think it is usual in those circumstances to read the statement.

It is a good way of covering up.

I am asking the Ceann Comhairle would he consider having the Parliamentary Secretary read it out?

It is a fair question.

I have already asked the permission of the Ceann Comhairle to circulate it.

I am asking too.

Question No. 2.
