Vol. 235 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Repair of Cottages.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether county councils are liable for the repair of cottages erected by them for small farmers, with a land valuation of under £5 and carrying a rent of 7/6d per week.

County councils are liable for the repair of cottages provided with the aid of the special subsidy payable under section 44 of the Housing Act, 1966, and let to small farmers. Where such cottages are sold, the vested tenants are liable.
