Vol. 235 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal Flooding.

28.

asked the Minister for Finance if he is aware of the considerable flooding of arable land in the townlands of Drumatinny, Ray, Ballyboe and Erroey in the Falcarragh area of County Donegal as a result of silting in the Ray river; and, if so, if he will make a grant available for the cleaning of this river.

The townlands mentioned are in the existing Carrowcanon (Ray River) drainage district. The works of this district are maintainable by Donegal County Council in accordance with statute and no State grant is available for such maintenance works.
