Vol. 235 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Issue of Salmon Fishing Licences.

19.

Mr. S. Barrett

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries if he will take whatever steps are necessary to permit the Limerick Board of Conservators to issue 100 salmon drift net licences in future years instead of the 70 now issued.

I do not propose to promote the legislation which would be necessary for the purpose in mind.

Mr. S. Barrett

Would the Minister consider applications by small fishermen before those of other people?

Why are you not answering?

It is impossible to hear with all the jabbering on the other side.

It was quite clear.

Dead silence from Fine Gael.

Look over your shoulder.

Question No. 20. Will Deputies please allow questions to proceed.

On a point of order, was No. 19 answered?

I understand it was.

There was a supplementary which the Minister did not hear.

Why do you not give him a script?
