Vol. 235 No. 8

Standard Time Bill, 1968: First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to establish the time for general purposes at one hour in advance of Greenwich mean time throughout the year.
—(Minister for Justice).

Is it proposed to dispose of this before the Recess?

I should imagine the House would agree to it fairly readily. It is anticipated, therefore, that the change will be made from October.

Will it affect the licensing laws?

The purpose of this Bill is not to make any change in the licensing laws.

You are in danger of introducing double summer time.

Not at the moment.

Second Stage ordered for Tuesday, 25th June, 1968.
