Committee on Finance. - Finance Bill, 1968: Money Resolution.

I move:

That for the purpose of any Act of the present session to charge and impose certain duties of customs and inland revenue (including excise), to amend the law relating to customs and inland revenue (including excise) and to make further provisions in connection with finance, it is expedient to authorise as follows:—

(a) to redeem borrowings, and interest thereon, in respect of capital services, there shall be charged annually on the Central Fund or the growing produce thereof a sum of £2,000,850 in the twenty-nine successive financial years and a sum of £2,453,200 in the thirty successive financial years commencing in each case with the financial year ending on the 31st day of March, 1969;

(b) there shall be made—

(i) any repayments of income tax and corporation profits tax which are provided for by any section of the said Act providing for relief from such taxes for payments in respect of redundancy,

(ii) any repayments of parts of fees paid in respect of licences under section 5 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act, 1926, in respect of television and radio sets which are provided for by any section of the said Act of the present session making provision in relation to schemes for free television and radio licences,

(iii) any repayments of excise duty in respect of mechanically propelled vehicles which are provided for by any section of the said Act of the present session providing for the restriction of the Finance (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Act, 1952, the amendment of the Schedule to the said Finance (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Act, 1952, or the confirmation of the Imposition of Duties (No. 170) (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Order, 1968.
