Vol. 236 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Telephones.

10.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the telephone kiosk at Main Street, Swords, County Dublin has not been working for some time; if he will state the reasons for this; and if he will take the necessary steps to have it maintained in proper operating order.

The kiosk is in working order at present. However, the coin-box and telephone apparatus have been subject to repeated damage and interference by vandals over a considerable period and because of this the kiosk has been frequently out of order, although it is given regular routine maintenance.

11.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the urgent need for a telephone kiosk at Glasmore Park, Swords, County Dublin where, in a recent case of serious illness, lack of this facility caused delays which could have had fatal results; and what steps his Department propose to take in connection with the matter.

A kiosk is not warranted at Glasmore Park at present but the position is being kept under review.
