Vol. 236 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Finglas Fire Brigade Service.

31.

asked the Minister for Local Government what plans are in train to provide a local fire brigade service in the Finglas area of Dublin; and when he expects that such a necessary service will be provided, bearing in mind the distance to the nearest fire station.

On 20th May I approved of the working drawings submitted by Dublin Corporation for the provision of a fire station at Finglas. Specification and bills of quantities are, I understand, now being prepared.

A locally based fire brigade service will be available on completion of this station. I could not say however at this stage when the station will be operative.
