Vol. 236 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sligo-Leitrim Drainage.

55.

asked the Minister for Finance if any drainage schemes will be put into operation in Sligo-Leitrim this year as heavy losses are suffered each year by farmers whose lands are flooded by the larger rivers; and, if so, what schemes will be put into operation.

It is hoped to commence works on the Kilcoo catchment during this year. This will drain 311 acres in County Leitrim. Work will continue in the Moy catchment which benefits 6,000 acres of agricultural land and 2,500 acres of bog in County Sligo.
