Vol. 236 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Local Authority Appointments.

5.

(South Tipperary) asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider having more local authority appointments referred to the appointments commissioners in view of a substantial measure of dissatisfaction now apparently developing with the local managerial appointment boards.

Local interview boards have operated in appropriate cases for many years in the local authority service. It has not been represented to me that there is any dissatisfaction with the procedure. If such representations are received they will be considered.
