asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of out-of-date payable orders for children's allowances to be validated in each of the last three years.

The number of out-of-date children's allowance orders, in respect of which payment was subsequently made by payable order in the last three financial years, 1965-66, 1966-67, and 1967-68, was in the region of 22,000, 20,500, and 21,000, respectively.
