Vol. 236 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Trade with Iron Curtain Countries.

1.

asked the Taoiseach if, as a gesture of Ireland's abhorrence of the invasion of Czechoslovakia by the Soviet Union and other Iron Curtain countries, the Government will take all steps available to them to prohibit or restrict imports from these countries and set up machinery to advise persons at present importing from such countries on the possibility of purchasing from alternative sources.

: I do not think that action on the lines envisaged in the Deputy's question would be helpful to the Czechoslovakian people at this time.
