Vol. 236 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Telephone Kiosk.

16.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware of the need for a telephone kiosk at Glasmore Park, Swords, County Dublin; and when this amenity will be provided.

It is planned to provide a kiosk in the Glasmore Park area early next year.

Mr. Dunne

How soon next year?

Early next year. If there is an early election the Deputy might not be here.

The Parliamentary Secretary should know about that. It is assumed that he is among the "in" group.

He is supposed to be an odds-on favourite for Deputy Blaney's job.

(Interruptions.)

(Cavan): Did I understand the Parliamentary Secretary to say that if there was an election early next year the kiosk might not be provided?

No, I said that the Deputy might not be there, not the new kiosk.

(Interruptions.)

(Cavan): Will the Parliamentary Secretary say what exactly he means?

Question No. 17. Deputies should cease interrupting and allow the Parliamentary Secretary to reply.

Surely the Chair is not suggesting that I am interrupting. I have merely been trying to ask one supplementary question and there have been a number of additions to it for which I am not responsible. Could the Parliamentary Secretary give us a more accurate idea of when this kiosk will be provided for the sake of the people who need it so badly in the case of an emergency, as will be verified by my colleague Deputy Foley?

I have been under considerable pressure by Deputy Foley about this.

(Interruptions.)

I hope the Parliamentary Secretary will notify him in due time.
