asked the Minister for Local Government if he intends to make arrangements whereby the postal vote will be completely secret and extend to registered electors who are absent from their homes on polling day.

An elaborate procedure to ensure the secrecy of the postal ballot is prescribed by the Electoral Acts.

The introduction of legislation to extend postal facilities to electors who may be absent from home on polling day is not proposed.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state with reference to the recent referendum the number and percentage poll of Gardaí and Army postal voters in each constituency.
