At the invitation of the Secretary of State for Wales I visited Wales last week for the purpose of seeing how a variety of problems are being tackled there. I was particularly interested in forestry, industrial, economic, social, cultural and linguistic problems similar to those confronting me as Minister for Lands and for the Gaeltacht. I am satisfied that the experience gained will be of considerable value in discharging the functions of my Departments. I was accompanied by the Secretaries of both Departments.
