asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the yield for a full year from the new taxes on (a) wholesale, (b) tobacco, (c) beer and (d) spirits and from the new postal charges.

The following is the information requested by the Deputy: (a) Wholesale tax, £8.7m.; (b) tobacco, £2.1m.; (c) beer, £3.5m.; (d) spirits, £1.1m.; (e) postal charges, £4.0m. (£3.7m. in 1969-70).

What is the total.

On an off-the-cuff calculation, £19.4 million.
