It is proposed to make new arrangements to improve State aid for the Arts and for further information I would refer the Deputy to the general policy statement in relation to An Chomhairle Ealaíon which was made on 28th March, 1968 in reply to a question from Deputy Andrews.
Legislation is being prepared at the moment and it is hoped to introduce it early in the new year.
Can the Taoiseach say if this was agreed with the bodies concerned?
There is only one main body, An Chomhairle Ealaíon. I know the Minister for Finance had consultations with some groups, as I had, beforehand, when I was Minister for Finance, and I think this is the outcome of those consultations.
