Vol. 237 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Imported Raw Materials.

3.

asked the Taoiseach what percentage of imported raw materials was involved in Irish goods exported for each of the three years up to and including 1967.

Annual particulars of the type requested by the Deputy are not available. To derive reliable estimates it is necessary to have a detailed input-output table showing the economic flows between different industries and sectors. Using a condensed version of such a table prepared for the year 1964 it has been estimated that the total import content, direct and indirect, of all domestic exports in that year was about one-quarter. Corresponding estimates for later years are not available.
