Vol. 237 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Youghal Derelict Site.

24.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will give his reasons for refusing permission to Youghal Urban District Council to acquire compulsorily a derelict site at Crowley Street, Youghal, County Cork, adjacent to the factory premises of a firm (name supplied).

I have not refused consent for the acquisition of the site in question. I made an order on 6th June, 1967, confirming the acquisition of part of the site and deferred a decision in regard to the remaining portion to give the owner an opportunity to honour his undertaking to render that part non-derelict. A decision as regards the remainder of the site will be conveyed to the council shortly.
