Mr. Sweetman

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in respect of lands in the possession of the Land Commission in the Kildare Constituency (1) the name of the estate, (2) the record number, (3) the townland, (4) the district electoral division, (5) the county, (6) the area, (7) the date on which the Land Commission took possession and (8) whether any, and if so, which estates have been left aside for division when further land becomes available in the area, so as to make a rational redistribution arrangement.

Land Commission records are not compiled by reference to constituency areas. For County Kildare, however, the reply takes the form of a tabular statement which, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate with the Official Report.

NOTES: 1. It is not possible at present to indicate when the individual estates mentioned will be allotted but there will be no avoidable delay. The necessary local enquiries preliminary to allotment are being pushed forward as rapidly as circumstances permit.

2. During the last three complete financial years the aggregate area allotted in County Kildare was approximately 2,250 acres.

3. The properties numbered 2, 8, 9, 21 and 22 are being treated as a unit for resale purposes. Work on the formulation of a composite scheme is proceeding as quickly as possible. Properties numbered 10 and 13 have been retained on hands pending the acquisition of other lands so as to make for a better division of these estates.
