asked the Minister for Transport and Power the goods and tonnage dues charged at the principal ports on the principal types of fuel oils.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to circulate a tabular statement in the Official Report giving the information requested by the Deputy.

Following is the statement: —

PARTICULARS OF GOODS AND TONNAGE DUES CHARGED AT THE PRINCIPAL PORTS ON THE PRINCIPAL TYPES OF FUEL OILS.

* The foregoing goods rates relate to the principal types of fuel oils. The Harbour Authorities mentioned also have other rates for categories of fuel oils not included above.

** Tonnage rates are calculated on every ton of the net registered tonnage or of half the gross tonnage whichever is the greater.

NOTE: In the case of certain bulk oil traffic, concessionary goods rates are charged by the harbour authorities.

Is it possible to get the average cost per ton?

It is quite an elaborate table.

Nobody will hang the Parliamentary Secretary up on it. If he gives me the average figure for the tonnage and the port dues——

The Deputy will have the tabular statement in a very short time.

I may have to raise it on the Adjournment.

The Adjournment is rather booked up for the next few nights.

The queue will get longer. I did not think I would cause so much trouble on that one.
