Vol. 237 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Post Office.

18.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether his Department have acquired a site at Cornelscourt, Foxrock, County Dublin, with a view to building a general post office and sorting office; and, if so, when it is expected to have it in operation.

Agreement has been reached for the purchase of a site for a new District Sorting Office at Cornelscourt. Objection has been raised by Dublin Co. Council to the project on planning grounds and efforts are being made to resolve this difficulty. No reliable estimate can be given at this stage as to when an office will be in operation. The erection of a branch post office in the area is not proposed, since counter facilities can adequately be provided at sub-post offices.
