Vol. 237 No. 6

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork School.

43.

asked the Minister for Education when the proposed national school will be erected at Derrinagree, County Cork.

Sketch plans for a new school at Derrinagree have been prepared by the Commissioners of Public Works and agreement has been reached as to the proportions of the cost of the school to be met by State grant and by local contribution, respectively. The building will have five standard classrooms and a general purposes room, with toilets, cloakrooms.

The further arrangements for the erection of the new school cannot proceed until evidence of title to the school site is available. The Reverend Manager is attending to this matter and my Department is in communication with his solicitor about the production of evidence of title.

As soon as satisfactory evidence is available the Commissioners of Public Works will undertake the remaining arrangements leading to the erection of the school. The case has been scheduled for priority treatment.
