Vol. 237 No. 7

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification.

37.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power when electricity supply will be extended to Borrisoleigh, County Tipperary.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that householders in the village of Borrisoleigh have been supplied with electricity for several years. It is presumed, therefore, that the Deputy is referring to householders in the vicinity of Borrisoleigh and located in the board's Upperchurch rural area. This area is scheduled for recanvass under the rural electrification planned postdevelopment scheme in the summer of next year and construction work will commence about six months later. Supply will then be extended to all householders who accept the terms quoted and have their houses wired.
