The consumer price index is calculated in respect of mid-February, mid-May, mid-August and mid-November each year. The index (base August 1947=100) was 200 at mid-August, 1968, an increase of 23 points or 13.0 per cent compared with mid-February, 1965. The increase compared with mid-May, 1965, was 20 points or 11.1 per cent.
