Vol. 237 No. 7

Ceisteann—Questions. Oral Answers. - CIE Fares Increase.

4.

asked the Taoiseach the increase in the cost of living which will result from the further increase in the cost of CIE fares.

On the basis of the information available in advance of the details of the specific changes in road and rail passenger fares, it is estimated that the increase in the consumer price index (base August 1947=100) will be about a half a point.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary consider passing on this information to the Minister for Transport and Power so as to assist him in his continual lectures on the cost of living to the trade union movement?

He would not have the time. He is witch-hunting now. He ought to be ashamed of himself.
