Vol. 237 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Farm.

185.

asked the Minister for Lands if the McNally farm, Alexanderaide, Navan, has been taken over by the Land Commission.

Proceedings for compulsory acquisition of this 127 acre farm have reached the stage where an objection lodged by the owner has been disallowed, following a public hearing last April, and negotiations on price are at present in progress. Until such time as these negotiations are completed it is not possible to indicate what the outcome will be.

Does the Minister not agree that it appears as if unreasonable time is being spent in relation to the acquisition of farms?

With regard to this farm the objection was only heard on the 24th April of this year.

This is the 28th November. It has been almost a year.

Six months.
