Vol. 237 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Westmeath Estate.

186.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission intend to improve the position of more than 30 uneconomic farm holdings in Westmeath by acquiring and distributing the estate of a company (name supplied).

Proceedings were instituted some months ago for compulsory acquisition of 843 acres held by this company, and an objection lodged on behalf of the owners is listed for open hearing next month. The claims of all deserving applicants will be fully considered in the event of the lands being acquired.
