Vol. 237 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Holding.

188.

asked the Minister for Lands if he is aware of the anxiety and disappointment expressed by the many smallholders concerning the undue delay in dividing the Lineen estate, Glountaun, Lismore, County Waterford; and when the lands will be divided.

The formulation of resale proposals for this 48 acre holding, possession of which passed to the Land Commission last November, has been unavoidably deferred due to pressure of land settlement demands in other areas and to a reorganisation of the inspectorate staff in the Waterford area. However, every effort is being made to ensure that plans for disposal of the estate will be prepared as early as possible.
