asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils at present attending post-primary schools in each of the following areas (a) Dublin City and within a 30 miles radius, (b) Cork City and within a 30 miles radius, (c) Galway City and within a 30 miles radius, and (d) Limerick City and within a 30 miles radius.

asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils (a) male and (b) female at present attending (1) post-primary schools in (i) Limerick city and (ii) Limerick county, (2) schools within a ten-mile radius of Limerick city and (3) schools within a 20-mile radius of Limerick city.

asked the Minister for Education the number of pupils at present attending (a) primary schools, (b) secondary schools, (c) technical schools in (1) Limerick city, (2) Limerick county, (d) schools within a ten mile radius of Limerick city, (e) schools within a twenty mile radius of Limerick city and (f) schools within a 30 mile radius of Limerick city.

In relation to Questions 142, 143, 144 the information sought by the Deputy in regard to the present school year will not be available to the Department until after the annual census has been taken in February next. Furthermore compiling it in the form in which it is sought would take an inordinate amount of time and would not warrant the cost involved.

With your permission I propose to raise the subject matter of Question No. 175 on the Order Paper of the 22nd November which was postponed last Thursday due to the absence of the Minister, as you remember.
