Vol. 237 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Wiring of Cabra (Dublin) Houses.

3.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if he is aware of the anxiety caused to many Corporation tenants in the areas of Cabra east and west, Dublin, because of the poor quality external wiring carrying electrical power to their houses; and if he proposes any immediate action to remedy this situation.

I am informed by the ESB that they are not aware that the quality of the external wiring is causing anxiety to corporation tenants in the Cabra area.

The board is aware that the current carrying capacity of original external wiring tends to become inadequate with increasing present day loads and that there are some instances of this in the Cabra area.

A programme of replacement of wiring in such cases has been in operation for some time and is continuing.
