Vol. 237 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Night Classes.

80.

asked the Minister for Education if there is a screening process for acceptance of applicants to night classes in Dublin city vocational schools; and, if so, what standards are required.

I understand from the City of Dublin Vocational Education Committee that there is no formal examination operated in connection with the acceptance of applicants who wish to enrol in night classes in Dublin city vocational schools. The normal enrolment procedure involves, however, that members of the teaching staff interview the applicants before enrolment and suitably advise them to ensure that they are likely to benefit from attendance at the class they wish to enter.
