Dáil Éireann debate -
Thursday, 5 Dec 1968

Vol. 237 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Foreign Owned Industries.

101.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will give details of the total number of foreign-owned industries established in this country with State aid in the past eight years; the number of foreign firms established in partnership with Irish companies with State aid; and the number of jobs created.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to similar questions in Dáil Éireann on 4th July, 1968. The industries for which grants were approved by An Foras Tionscal in the eight years ended 31st March, 1968, are expected, when in full production, to provide employment for some 37,000 workers.
