asked the Minister for Finance if he will give further details as to how the £2 million support for exporters will be raised.

27.

asked the Minister for Finance if the British Government are in possession of full details of how the £2 million support for Irish exports will be raised.

I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 26 and 27 together.

The cost of interest on funds being made available to exporters, to enable them to pay the deposits chargeable under the British import deposit scheme, will be borne by the Exchequer. This arrangement has been made known to the British Government with whom the question of an offset has been raised.
