asked the Taoiseach the number and total cost of fully-assembled cars imported this year up to the latest available date; and if he can give a comparable figure for cars assembled in this country in the same period.

In the period 1st January to 30th September, 1968, imports of fully assembled passenger motor cars numbered 2,917 valued at £1,669,555. The total number of passenger motor cars assembled in the country in the same period is estimated at 37,070. The total value of these cars is not available.
