asked the Minister for Local Government the total amount collected in motor taxation for the year up to the latest available date; and the amount at present in the road fund.

The total amount of motor licence duty, including driving licence fees, collected by licensing authorities and lodged to the credit of the central motor tax account in the period 1st April, 1968, to 30th November, 1968, was £6,387,078. The balance at present in the Road Fund is £442 0s 3d.
