Local Government (Planning and Development) Bill, 1969: First Stage.

Leave granted to introduce a Bill entitled an Act to provide for the establishment of a body to be known as An Bord Achomharc Pleanála and to define its functions, to provide that in the consideration of certain applications, appeals and other matters under the Local Government (Planning and Development) Act, 1963, regard may be had to certain needs and interests, to provide for the extension of the period within which certain appeals under the said Act may be brought, to amend for the purposes aforesaid the said Act and to provide for other matters connected with the matters aforesaid.

(Cavan): Might I ask the Minister does he propose to divest himself of certain powers as an appellate tribunal?
