The accounting year for the majority of the harbour authorities scheduled under the Harbours Act, 1946 is the calendar year. The indebtedness of all scheduled harbour authorities at 31st December, 1967, which is the latest available date, was approximately £2,707,000 and the cost of servicing in the year 1967 was approximately £191,000.
