Vol. 238 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Appointment of Drugs Adviser.

94.

asked the Minister for Health why he did not appoint a practising pharmacist to the committee advising him on drugs; if he will now appoint one; and, if not, why.

I have invited a practising pharmaceutical chemist, whose name was submitted to me by the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland, to be a member of the working party on drug abuse.

I should like to thank the Minister for acceding to the representations which were obviously implied in the question.

Yes, the Society appeared to regard it as a slur and as this was not intended I immediately took steps to remedy the position.
