Vol. 238 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballisodare (County Sligo) Housing.

35.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the urgency of erecting local authority houses at Ballisodare, County Sligo; the reasons for the delay in approving the proposals of Sligo County Council for a housing scheme there; and when he proposes to give approval.

I am informed by the housing authority that there are 13 approved applicants for rehousing in Ballisodare. Plans for a 12 house scheme have been agreed to by my Department, subject to the submission of an estimate of cost which is awaited.

Delay in finalising this scheme has been due, mainly, to the necessity for the revision, by the county council, of their original plans for sewering the site. Revised drainage proposals are at present under examination in my Department and a decision on them will be given as soon as possible.
