Vol. 238 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Parking Meters.

29.

(Dublin South-Central) asked the Minister for Local Government how soon parking meters will be introduced in Dublin; and if their introduction will mean that traffic wardens will no longer be employed.

Until bye-laws providing for the introduction of a parking meter scheme in Dublin have been submitted to me by the Garda Commissioner, and until I have given my consent thereto, I am unable to say when such a scheme may be introduced by Dublin Corporation.

The employment of traffic wardens is a matter for the Commissioner.
