Vol. 238 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Transport Authority.

15.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider the establishment of a unified transport authority for the greater Dublin area with a view to organising and co-ordinating all facets of the traffic problem in the area; and if he will provide that representation on the authority be given to the local authorities, the Gardaí and CIE.

The establishment of a unified transport authority for the greater Dublin area is not contemplated, but as the Deputy is aware there is a committee representative of the Dublin local authorities, the Garda Síochána, CIE and of my Department which co-ordinates the activities of these bodies in relation to Dublin traffic.
