Vol. 238 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - NET Manufactures and Exports.

57.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce what percentage of the Irish market in the range of chemical products concerned is made up of goods manufactured by NET; and the value and weight of NET exports, since its establishment.

Because of the increasing size of the market for fertilisers and the company's production capacity, the percentages of the market supplied by the company are being given as estimates prepared for the year ending 30th June, 1969.

On the basis of present estimates, Nítrigin Éireann Teoranta will supply during the company year ending 30th June, 1969 the following approximate percentages of the Irish market for the fertiliser products manufactured by them:

Sulphate of ammonia Calcium ammonium nitrate 99 per cent

100 per cent

Concentrated Complete Fertilisers (CCFs)

30 per cent

Certain by-products arising out of the manufacture of fertilisers are also produced by the company but it is undesirable to give the market percentage supplied in these cases as they are sold to one customer only.

Up to 31st December, 1968, the value of the company's exports since their establishment totals £424,622. As different products are involved, the exports are expressed in value only.
