Vol. 238 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Dublin Sewage Disposal.

39.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether any emergency measures are to be implemented to deal with sewage disposal in Dublin.

I understand that emergency measures to deal with sewage disposal in Dublin were put into operation immediately after the recent explosions at the Pigeon House Pumping Station. I am also informed that it is expected that conditions at the station will be back to normal very shortly.

Can the Minister reassure those people who are worried about a further explosion that such will not take place?

There is no reason to expect that there will.

Does the Minister see any health problem arising?

Will there be any inquiry?

The Department of Labour will deal with that.

They are dealing with it — an inquiry into the explosion?
